DARKER TERRORS ACQUIRED BY TICKETY BOO PRESS’ NEW SPECTRAL PRESS IMPRINT

darker-spFollowing the official transfer of rights between Simon Marshall-Jones and Tickety Boo Press Ltd, the latter imprint has now taken over all rights and the outstanding costs to the anthology DARKER TERRORS edited by the multiple award-winning team of Stephen Jones and David A. Sutton.

The limited edition hardcover and trade paperback editions will now be sold through the Tickety Boo Press website and other trade outlets, while an e-book edition will be available soon.

“I am delighted that Tickety Boo Press will now be involved in the publication of such a wonderful anthology,” says Gary Compton. “The original books from Gollancz undoubtedly defined the horror genre in the 1990s, and this new volume presents some of the very best stories to appear in that series.

“Also, this transfer of rights has effectively reduced Simon Marshall-Jones’ outstanding debts by a significant amount, which is good news for everyone concerned. Now the hard work begins.”

“After serious consideration,” explains co-editor Stephen Jones, “David Sutton and I decided that this would be the best course of action to not only help our friend Simon and support all that he achieved in creating Spectral Press, but it would also allow the anthology—which we are extremely proud of—to reach the widest possible readership.”

Edited by the World Fantasy Award-winning team of Stephen Jones and David A. Sutton, DARKER TERRORS collects together nineteen memorable stories by such authors as Neil Gaiman, Ray Bradbury, Harlan Ellison, Ramsey Campbell, Poppy Z. Brite, Michael Marshall Smith, Christopher Fowler, Brian Lumley and Gwyneth Jones, amongst others, along with new reminiscences by both the editors and an exclusive Index detailing the authors and stories that were included in the original anthology series.

“Very creepy stuff!” —John Landis, director of AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and Michael Jackson’s THRILLER.

All customer orders will now be fulfilled by Tickety Boo Press Ltd., and copies are available to buy directly from the website at ticketyboopress.co.uk and selected specialist booksellers.

Dan Weatherer joins Tickety Boo Press’ Spectral Imprint…

12341064_887742204648974_2697003780286330967_nGary Compton of Tickety Boo Press is delighted to announce that Dan Weatherer has joined Tickety Boo Press’ new imprint, Scarier 51.

His collection of tales, Neverlight will be released as a limited hardback and ebook in the spring. Then followed by a mass-market paperback.

Gary said. “He had watched Dan Weatherer from afar and was impressed with his talent and drive to succeed. With his following on social media growing everyday, it was an easy decision to make.”

Award-winning author Dan Weatherer  was first published by Haunted Magazine in Spring, 2013. “The Legend of the Chained Oak” was an immediate success and was made into a short film which won the award for ‘Best Horror’ at the Portobello Independent Film Festival (2014), ‘Best Short’ at The Bram Stoker International Film Festival (2014) and also the ‘Best UK Short Film’ award at the Stoke Your Fires Film Festival 2014. The film featured at numerous film festivals around the world during 2014. The premiere screening took place in his hometown of Cheadle, Staffordshire, where he kindly donated all of the proceeds to local charities.

In 2015 Dan was shortlisted for the prestigious position of Staffordshire Poet Laureate 2016-2018.

Aside from the publication of numerous short stories with a multitude of presses, his next major project was a solo collection of short stories titled ‘The Soul That Screamed’ (Winner of the Preditors & Editors™ Readers’ Poll ‘Best Anthology 2013’.)

A further two collections “Only the Good Burn Bright” and “Neverlight” quickly followed.

His first non-fiction book titled ‘What Dwells Within’ is due to be released in the Autumn of 2015 and details the life’s work of paranormal investigator Jayne Harris.

An accomplished playwright, interest in Dan’s stage plays is high. Expect to see Dan’s work on stage very soon.

He lives in Staffordshire, where is married to his wife Jenni and is a (proud) full-time dad to his daughter Bethany and his son Nathan.
